At Ace Energy Services, Inc. we understand building science and how to apply it. We help builders and homeowners achieve maximum comfort and energy savings at the lowest cost possible. Whether its single family, townhouses, or multi-family buildings we utilize our knowledge to provide solutions. Often, we help implement solutions by conducting effective air-sealing or the installation of air-source heat pump systems.

As HERS Raters, our job is to help home builders meet the energy code, save on construction costs, and maximize utility sponsored incentives.
Air Source Heat Pump Systems
As designers and installers of Air Source Heat Pump systems for new construction, our mission is to size the systems accurately and design for comfort while being mindful of cost. We install only heat pump models that are the most proven for cold climates and that qualify for rebates. We currently design and install heat pump systems for single-family homes, town houses, multi-family, and small commercial buildings.
Home Energy Audits
As Energy Auditors we help homeowners prioritize energy efficiency measures in terms of cost effectiveness. Tim and Ian together have conducted energy audits on thousands of residences of all types for utility companies as well as private building owners.

Tim Gould
Principal
Tim holds a Master of Science degree in Resource Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban Studies. Tim has spent his entire career working to improve the environment, first in wastewater management, then solid waste management, and in energy–both the conservation and renewable sectors. Tim is a certified RESNET HERS Rater. He is a Level I Infrared Thermographer. Tim is experienced in all aspects of measuring air infiltration, including blower door testing, duct testing, residential energy modeling, and in conservation services, such as weatherization, air sealing, and insulation. Tim is a certified Mitsubishi Systems installation and service provider.
Ian Rex
Principal
Ian built a solid energy consulting business fifteen years ago by offering home energy audits and then extended into the new home market, helping builders pass the Energy Code. He coordinates Ace’s operations and oversees the technical leadership that we offer our builders every day. Ian started off in Advertising in New York City and then moved into Philosophy & Counseling for a dozen years before centering on the state's new “energy” industry. Ian is certified through Resnet as a HERS Energy Star rater, and the Building Performance Institute (BPI) as a “Building Analyst” and the more advanced “Envelope Professional.” Lobstering, racing his gaff-rig wooden sailboat, and skiing with family are among his favorite pastimes.
Jenn Wenzel
Purchasing Manager
Jenn Wenzel is an accomplished operations and purchasing professional with over 25 years of experience in the HVAC and energy services industries. She currently leads supply chain and purchasing strategy for the Heat Pump Division at Ace Energy Services, where she ensures cost-effective sourcing, vendor coordination, and seamless operational execution. Jenn is also a Class 1 Energy Rater, bringing certified expertise in energy efficiency and compliance to her role.
Before joining Ace Energy, Jenn served as Operations Manager at Infinite Energy Solutions, overseeing logistics, accounting, and staff operations with a focus on organizational efficiency and team performance.
Earlier in her career, she spent nearly a decade as General/Operations Manager at Progressive Air Systems in Port Richey, Florida. There, she directed daily operations across multiple departments—including new construction, service, equipment installation, marketing, customer service, HR, and warehousing. Under her leadership, the company scaled from a $650,000 operation to over $8 million in annual revenue, growing from 5 to 90 employees. She was the primary liaison for national builder clients such as DR Horton, Ryan Homes, Ryland Homes, Minto Communities, and Homes by Westbay, ensuring high-quality service delivery and account satisfaction.
Jenn is known for applying Lean methodology to streamline operations, reduce costs, and improve cross-functional efficiency. Her ability to align strategic goals with day-to-day execution has made her a key contributor to every organization she’s been part of.
She holds an MBA from Hood College and a BA from the University of South Florida, and is passionate about scalable operations, clean energy solutions, and continuous improvement in operations and profitability.
Elizabeth McCarthy
Office Manager
Elizabeth has come to ACE Energy Services, with over 30 years of comprehensive administrative experience in both small and mid-size companies. Elizabeth has demonstrated a history of working in the marketing and sales industry. Skilled in Sales, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Management, Account Management and Leadership. Her experience and professionalism give her the necessary skill set to solve problems, while thinking outside of the box. Considerable accomplishments in consistently meeting goals individually as well as organizationally.
Strong business development professional with a BA focused in Business and Organization Communications from Emerson College.
Mark Price
Project Manager
Mark has been involved with the development of LEED for Homes since the Pilot Demonstration in 2006 and is one of the original LEED Green Raters. He is also a certified RESNET HERS Rater and a Level I Infrared Thermographer. Mark is experienced in analysis of design and construction practices for new and retrofit construction, focusing on maximizing sustainable building practices, energy efficiency, building durability, comfort, occupant health and safety, and indoor air-quality.

Ricardo has many years of experience as a certified HVAC technician and holds an EPA 608 Universal certificate. Ricardo has many years of experience in HVAC on a wide range of systems. This experience gives him a solid knowledge base of to how best to install different manufacturers’ equipment and adapt it to individual residential and commercial building circumstances.
John Sullivan
HVAC/R Technician
John has over 10 years of experience in HVAC on a wide range of systems. This experience gives him a solid knowledgebase of how best to install different manufacturers equipment. Having worked on many different types of homes, he knows how to best install given the circumstances.
John holds an EPA Universal certificate and many manufacturers training certificates.
Mike Delong
HVAC Technician
Mike has over 40 years of experience as a true Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning expert. He is fully versed in all aspects of HVAC/R design, installation, and troubleshooting. Mike holds a Master’s Sheet Metal License in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

Jake Picard
Certified HERS Rater
Jake is a certified HERS Rater with several years of experience in the field. He has in-depth understanding of the home as a system. He is well versed in the latest energy modeling software including Ekotrope for HERS Ratings and Wrightsoft for preparing accurate Manual J heating and cooling load reports.
Jake has been involved hands-on in many air source heat pump installations. This gives him an understating of the details and challenges involved in heat pump installation on a variety of homes. Jake has had manufacturers training by Mitsubishi and holds an Advanced M&P equipment series certificate.
Jakie Kassis

Jackie has a Master of Science degree in Project Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from Wentworth Institute of Technology. Jackie is a certified HERS Rater. She has significant experience in modeling and testing residential homes for energy efficiency.
